Financing:

EmdAde AIDS is an independent non-profit organisation. It is not liable to governmental influence or censorship.

EmdAde AIDS is funded solely through:

  1. Donations

  2. Promotions from private organisations and companies.

  3. Investments from regional and international organisations, such as UN, WHO ...

There are going to be no commercial advertisements on the EmdAde AIDS website. We are planning partnership with other, non-commerical websites.

Our goal is to keep the information provided and journalistic contributions in the form, in which they are now.

Issues:

All donations are used solely for the projects, that provide information about the disease and the risks, associate with it. You can help us improve the educational program, increase the level of awareness and establish a proper enviroment, in which dealing with sensitive topics is possible. The main focus lies on providing information to the young people.

  1. Prevention: In the opinion of the experts, prevetion is the most effective measure to decrease the spreading rate of HIV/AIDS. Educational and prevention programs in Internet in the native language of the target group can efficiently reach many people in the age group with the highest risk of infection (from 18 to 35 years of age) with minimal explicit costs.

  2. Sexual education for the yound people: The young people are at great risk group for HIV infection. Educated people have a better view and assesment of risk factors. Health of the young people is of utter importance to the society.

  3. Education for families: In Persian communities family plays the largest role in a young person's selfidentification process. Educational work in the family circle helps to insure and protect health of the family members.

  4. Advice: People, who find themselves in a situtaion with a high risk of infection often begin to panic. However, because the topic of HIV/AIDS is still often tabooed, they don't want to obtain help or advice from specialists. Because of the anonimity of the online consultations, these people now have an opportunity to ask questions that they would not have otherwise dared to ask. The advice are then openly published on the website, so that other people with similar questions could profit from them.

  5. Motivating to take the HIV-test: EmdAde AIDS also provides local adresses and information to those, who wish to tak an HIV-test anonimously. Information about especially dangerous cases, in which the test has to be taken, is also provided on the website.

  6. Motivating safer sex: EmdAde AIDS propagates use of condoms as an important means of protection from HIV&AIDS.

  7. Information for drug addicts: A large part of the HIV infected people are drug addicts, who consume drugs intravenously. Neglecting elementary hygenic measures in use of syringes has lead to catastrophic spreading of the infection. We inform and help addicts to find safer ways for taking the drugs, such as snuffing and smoking, as well as provide information about drugsubstitutions and detoxications.

  8. Taking taboo off the subject of HIV/AIDS: EmdAde AIDS strives to take taboo off the subject of HIV&AIDS and to establish basis for discussion of the topic.

  9. Helping and protecting the HIV-infected people: With the help of information and education, EmdAde AIDS strives to change societal stereotypes about HIV-infected people from "criminals" to "patients". In order to accomplish this, EmdAde AIDS provides current actual information about new therapy forms and medicaments.

  10. Informational database for doctors and medical personell: EmdAde AIDS works on a worldwide informational database for doctors and medical personell. This database should give medical professionals an opportunity to easily assess comprehensive information onthe subject of HIV/AIDS.
